Garden designer Peter Berg – an overarching concept

The architecture, wider cultural landscape and garden design cannot be separated. When creating gardens, we always collaborate with our clients. This process does not happen in the office, the ideas are developed on site and by responding to the environment.

The first design stage involves jointly developing an overarching concept. It is then, depending on the circumstances, presented back as floor plans or by using illustrated examples. If necessary, the design is amended. However, this is not the end of the process. As in architecture, planning continues to develop in parallel with the construction of the garden. The overarching concept is constantly being refined.

Garden planning Berg style

Gardener or landscape architect – Peter Berg and his planning team

Peter Berg is a garden designer with an abundance of practical expertise, he is a visionary and boundary pusher. He never wanted to be a landscape architect. That is what makes Susanne Förster an ideal business partner – her strengths are calculations, construction site scheduling and detailed planning.

Peter Berg works with his daughter Mirjam Schuth on the design planning. As an architect, she combines landscape architecture with the design of existing or planned buildings. Isabell Huch has been part of the planning team since spring of 2024. With a master’s degree in landscape architecture, she is a great addition to the team.

Site planning – working hand-in-hand with the architect

After the design stage, and if needed, our planning team can support the architect with the building permit application. We are happy to coordinate with the authorities and prepare plans for the architect where required under building laws.

The spotlight is on the architecture – but our work, the design of the outside space, increases the aesthetic and value of every property.

Planning early

Getting a head start on planning saves money. We have experience working with clients and architects during the planning and construction of a house. Agreeing on an approach before construction starts is particularly worthwhile for projects where access issues may arise.

Redesigning a garden

We are also experts at redesigning gardens, whether partly or fully. Together with the client, we evaluate the site and approach it step-by-step. Any important features and plants are preserved, while the team focuses on areas needing intensive care or extensive work. Entirely new elements can be added, such as water, an outdoor kitchen or buildings. We make sure that the garden is as multi-functional as possible.
