Peter Berg and Susanne Förster founded GartenLandschaft Berg Co GmbH in 2000 with the goal of setting up a meaningful business.
Our approach is rooted in theory and practice – we design sustainable and build beautiful gardens for enthusiastic, nature-loving clients.
Even though we tailor each project, Peter Berg’s signature style is always present. The local environment, with its wealth of challenges and opportunities, plays an important role. Plans are designed according to the needs of our clients. To do this we draw on our experience and philosophical approach to gardening and landscaping, which ensures the end result is meaningful, valuable and beautiful. This includes smaller spaces. The result is a functional garden that is very easy to care for. We connect the inside to the outside and create green spaces for living and enjoyment. The garden becomes the transition from the architecture of the house to the surrounding cultural landscape.
The GartenLandschaft approach has a growing reputation in the industry and Peter Berg has established himself internationally as a garden designer.

Redesigning your garden – our craftsmanship
Peter Berg is completely redesigning a garden in Bad Bodendorf, using dry stone walls and bespoke planting to transform it into a blooming oasis. This documentary is part of a series broadcast on television channel SWR called Craftsmanship. It follows the project from start to finish, beginning with the planning and ending with the completed garden.
The hillside garden
It is becoming more and more common to build on a slope; after all, these often sought after locations usually offer exceptional views. The design, however, always presents a big challenge for both the architect and gardener. It takes a lot of experience and specialist knowledge to maximise the full potential of the site.
