Focused on clients and employees – a culture of honesty at GartenLandschaft
Honesty is the foundation of collaboration: not only in a team but also with clients and between partners. We work with passion and get great satisfaction from the appreciation shown to us by our clients. Our team is brought closer together through our shared commitment to craftmanship, our achievements and the fruits of our labour. It is thanks to this high-performing team that our unique projects come to life.
Since founding the company, Peter Berg and Susanne Förster have worked continuously to refine their methods and improve efficiency. This benefits our clients because their projects are well-coordinated, and the work is of the highest quality. We use the Tempus Schedule System developed by German entrepreneur Jörg Knoblauch to evaluate our processes and set goals. Open communication with the team is essential. Together, we focus on the areas of action to keep things in order, which improves quality, scheduling and optimises processes.
Peter Berg – the lived philosophy behind the design
For Peter Berg, garden design means constantly training your aesthetic vision. In this video you can find out more about the person and garden designer, his career and passion for sustainable and sophisticated garden design. Peter Berg talks about his work philosophy and how he chooses materials, something he takes very seriously. He explains why the services he provides are important for clients, as well as for him personally. Peter Berg’s work as a garden designer has been recognised in Germany and internationally, primarily because he understands the long-term garden design trends and incorporates them into his work in a meaningful way.
Truly sustainable construction
Nature has already given us the blueprint for how to design a sustainable outside space. The following criteria are especially important to us:
The soil is the basis on every project. It should offer the ideal conditions for plants, microorganisms and to store water (see forest soil). We keep sealed surfaces and our use of concrete to a minimum.
A high proportion of woody plants, complete with underplanting, helps with evaporation and, therefore, creates a natural microclimate. The garden becomes an oasis in summer, offering shade and pleasant temperatures.
Slopes are generally terraced, either with a more natural stone wall or by using free-standing stones. Usable and easily accessible planting areas are created where water can quickly seep away, avoiding the flooding risks posed by torrential rain.
You can maximise the space available for planting by using roofs or facades. Using cisterns to capture rainwater just makes sense.
We are passionate about our work
Our love for the work we do means we bring genuine enthusiasm to all our projects. One of our core philosophies as a company is to constantly develop the potential of our team through lifelong learning, not just from seminars but also from each other and with each other, every day. Another is the promotion of health and fitness. Top athletes are the team’s role models team, not just in terms of performance but also motivation. Thanks to our clients, who are as involved in their gardens as we are, we always find joy in our work.
We are happy to offer apprenticeships for young people.
„Working in nature – calling those looking for a career change“
When it comes to hiring people, we like to be open minded. People who have a passion for nature and are looking to change career, have an interest in craftsmanship and a love of physical activity are exactly who we are looking for.
We want great colleagues who want to work with us and help move the company forward, because success for the company means new opportunities and development for everyone involved. Our apprentices Julius and Philip are valued members of the team. At the end of their three year training, they achieved great results and secured second and third place among the top graduates in North Rhine-Westphalia.
