“Hillside gardens are our speciality,” Peter Berg

Creating a natural slope stabilisation system without concrete requires specialised techniques and experience. Peter Berg has developed particular expertise in this area, particularly with regard to sloping plots, over the years. The slope is stabilised, the usable area is expanded and the amount of maintenance required is reduced by using rock placement, dry stone walls and skilful terracing. Once the basic structure – comprising natural rock formations and dry stone walls – is in place, it’s time for planting. Large trees and shrubs are often planted whilst the slope is being stabilised, followed by grasses, perennials, ferns… – and the garden begins to turn green. We look forward to showing you this process in our next short film. Until then enjoy our video about sloping gardens.
