Are you a landscape gardener, winemaker or garden owner with a love of natural stone? Then our dry-stone wall workshop is perfect for you – whether you are a novice or have previous experience.

We want to preserve traditional crafts, like building dry stone walls, to ensure they do not die out. Led by garden designer, speaker and gardening and landscaping master Peter Berg, you will learn the theory behind dry stone walling and get hands-on construction experience. Natural stone lover Dirk Lücken will provide support during the practical part of the workshop. The following topics will be covered:

• Dry stone walls in the cultural landscape
• Dry stone walls and hillside gardens
• Regional examples from vineyards in the Ahr Valley
• Technical and design rules
• A combination of natural stone construction methods

The emphasis of the workshop is on the practical skills because you only learn to build walls by building walls.

We are currently looking for a suitable project to implement our workshop. In addition to dry stone walls, we would also like to provide an insight into free stone setting.
